Postcards

from Stuck In A Groove by Frank D. Hill

lyrics

Seems I been on the road
since before I could speak.
Never going nowhere,
just hitting the street.
Stealing love and money
from the very first friend I meet.

Searching through the memories
of the miles I've flown across.
Trying to find a picture
of what I might've lost.
Come across a postcard
from you to me telling me what was.

Wandering wordlessly
and abandoned by God;
silence is a friend to me,
only companion I got.
Stretching out endlessly,
this wide world's all I want.

Purple mountain majesty
and long-forgotten roads.
Sun sets over amber grain
and I lay down my heavy load.
Lie out beneath the stars
wondering what they know.
